How many biological children does Angela Merkel have?

Angela Dorothea Merkel (born 17 July 1954) is a German stateswoman and former research scientist. Merkel has been the Chancellor of Germany since 2005, and the leader of the Christian Democratic Union (CDU) since 2000.

In 1977, Angela Kasner married physics student Ulrich Merkel and took his surname. The marriage ended in divorce in 1982. Her second and current husband is quantum chemist and professor Joachim Sauer, who has largely remained out of the media spotlight. They first met in 1981, became a couple later and married privately on 30 December 1998. She has no children, but Sauer has two adult sons from a previous marriage.

A former Prime Minister of New Zealand "Helen Clarke" also had no children. Big deal. Why have children because people think you should. One of my daughters made a choice not to have any, she did end up with a partner who had grown up children and she is a great Step-Grandmother.

Alastair Brown, what does it explain? Many women choose not to have children - it is their right to do so and not an indication of some character ‘flaw’. Would you say the same about a male politician who has no children?

Cheryl Perkins, there seems to be an expectation woman should have children. As if, in the 21st century, woman are still nothing more than baby-making machines. Nicola Sturgeon, the First Minister of Scotland has no children. Former British PM Theresa May also has no kids. In both those cases, I don't think it was a choice but women should not be judged or question about having no children.

Don't know why everyone is upset about this question. It is not invading her private life, She is now part of History and her life will be added to the History books and that usually ends up with their marriage, children, even grandchildren. The same as any other politician, some you don't here about, except those in there own countries, but will still be written into their countries history books. I thought was a good question and answer
