Huey Lewis & The News' 1984 hit single off the album Sports peaked at No. 6 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart. The lively, faced-paced song mentions 14 cities throughout the lyrics spanning from coast to coast.

The cities in order: New York, Los Angeles, Washington DC, San Antonio, Philadelphia (sung as Liberty Town), Boston, Baton Rouge, Tulsa, Austin, Oklahoma City, Seattle, San Francisco, Cleveland and Detroit.

Lewis and band guitarist Johnny Colla wrote the song. This is another fun, well-crafted hit song for the band, one of 12 US Top 10 hits in the '80s. It's about how Rock music is alive and well all over the United States, similar in style to the Motown classic "Dancing in the Street," which also features powerful horns and shout outs to lots of cities.

Also, different versions of the song were released to stations mentioning nearby cities. For example, Albuquerque, N.M. received a version that included Santa Fe. Denver had one that mentioned Boulder.

However, some people were not as receptive to it. In 2009 Blender Magazine listed it at No. 6 on the "50 worst songs ever".
