How many different types of eclipses are visible from the earth?

There are 6 different types of eclipses that are visible from the earth. They are:

1) Penumbral Lunar Eclipse,

2) Partial Lunar Eclipse,

3) Total Lunar Eclipse,

4) Partial Solar Eclipse,

5) Annular Solar Eclipse and

6) Total Solar Eclipse.

The attached photograph shows the 3 types of Lunar Eclipses.

Look at the position of the moon in the earth's shadow. Where the moon is at in the shadow determines what type of eclipse is occurring. The 3 types of Solar Eclipses are very similar to the 3 types of Lunar Eclipses.
