How many full moons does a person live through in a lifetime assuming a lifespan of 80 years?
You can conceivably see 169 full moons per month.Assuming we see a new and full moon every 28 days, at the age of 80 a person has lived through 1,000 full moons! In some cultures like in India, an 80th birthday is a grandly celebrated for this reason.

Assuming a full moon every 28 days, one would see 1,042.85 full moons in 80 years. It would take a little more than 76.7 years or 76 years and 9 or 10 months to see 1000 full moons.
This is simple math.

13 full moons a year, given the 80 year was born in January and died in December or still alive and counting then an absolute minimum of 1040 moons.

In india, this is called sahasra chandra darshan . Lot of rituals are conducted after attaining 80 years.

The answer is still correct. 12 or 13 full moons X 80 years equals 960 or 1040 considering that every 2 or 3 years there is an extra full moon.
