How many medals were won by Austrian athletes at the World Weightlifting Championships in 1909?
The World Weightlifting Championships is an event organised by International Weightlifting Federation (IWF). The first competition, held in March 1891, was won by Edward Lawrence Levy of England.
Athletes nowadays compete in a total of 15 weight categories (8 for men and 7 for women), however in 1909, there was only two categories: 80kg Middleweight and 80+kg Heavyweight.
The 1909 Men's World Weightlifting Championships were held in Vienna, Austria-Hungary from October 3 and December 2, 1909. There were 23 men in action from 3 nations (Austria-Hungary, Germany and France). It was the 12th World Weightlifting Championships.
All medals won by Austrian weightlifters, Johann Eibel won the middleweight class while Josef Grafl won the heavyweight division.

The Silver medal for the 80+kg Heavyweight event went to Karl Swoboda of Austria
The Bronze medal for the 80+kg Heavyweight event went to Berthold Tandler of Austria
This meant that the team from Austria-Hungary won a total of six out of six events at the World Weightlifting Championship that year.
