How many Presidents of the United States are from the state of New York?

There have been 7 Presidents of the United States from New York. The first one was the 8th President, Martin Van Buren. Then the 13th, Millard Fillmore. There was a long break until the next NY President which was number 21, Chester A. Arthur who was immediately followed by Grover Cleveland, number 22 and 24 (the only President to serve non-consecutive terms). Next was the 26th President, Teddy Roosevelt. Franklin Roosevelt, the 32nd President was next and after a long absence of a New Yorker in the White House Donald Trump was elected the 45th President of the United States.

I disagree with the answer. Two presidents lived in NY put were born in VT and NJ

I believe you need to discern what is meant by "from". There are five Presidents which were born in New York: Martin Van Buren, Millard Fillmore,Theodore Roosevelt,Franklin D. Roosevelt and Donald Trump.

I agree that this question isn't clear what the definition of "from" is. It could be their place of birth, in which case the answer is incorrect, or it could be where they grew up and served in political office prior to being president. A lot of people are born somewhere but aren't "from" there.

Very Misleading question From as in "born in" or From as in lived in... These are becoming increasingly more common here, too bad, as it doesn't;t test knowledge accurately.
