André George Previn (born April 6, 1929 – February 28, 2019) was a German-American pianist, composer, and conductor. His career had three major genres: Hollywood films, jazz, and classical music. In each he achieved success, and the latter two were part of his life until the end. In movies, he arranged and composed music. In jazz, he was a celebrated trio pianist, a piano-accompanist to singers of standards, and pianist-interpreter of songs from the "Great American Songbook". In classical music, he also performed as a pianist but gained television fame as a conductor, and during his last thirty years created his legacy as a composer of art music.

Previn was married five times. Betty Bennett (m. 1952; div. 1957)​, Dory Langan (m. 1959; div. 1970)​, Mia Farrow (m. 1970; div. 1979)​, Heather Hales ​(m. 1982; div. 1999) and Anne-Sophie Mutter (m. 2002; div. 2006). He had a total of 10 Children. Previn died on February 28, 2019, at home in Manhattan at the age of 89.
