Young love isn't a new idea; it has been an understatement many times in literature, plays, TV and movies. With one of William Shakespeare's most famous characters, Juliet, she is just 13 years old when she is found declaring her love for Romeo in the play by Shakespeare. We know that she is young since her age is confirmed when Lord Capulet says "Juliet hath not seen the change of fourteen years". Romeo is believed to be young, but his age isn't explicitly stated. It is thought that he is likely 16 or 17.

Romeo and Juliet are a pair who are involved in a romantic tragedy. Juliet is the only daughter of the patriarch of the House of Capulet. She falls in love with Romeo, a member of the House of Montague (with which the Capulets have a blood feud). In light of all the circumstances that they face, it is fascinating and enthralling to see all the efforts they take to be together.

As the story occurs, Juliet is about to become 14. She was born on "Lammas Eve at night" (August 1), so her birthday is July 31 (Act 1, scene 3, line 19). Her birthday is "a fortnight hence", putting the action of the play in mid-July (Act 1, scene 3, line 17). Juliet could have been married and had a child at her early age. Lady Capulet for example had given birth to her first child by the time she was Juliet's age: "By my count, I was your mother much upon these years that you are now a maid." (Act 1, scene 3, line 74). Romeo and Juliet are considering the needs of their Italian families.
