In 2020, how many countries made up Northern Europe?
Ten (10) countries were considered part of Northern Europe in 2020. They were Iceland, Ireland, the United Kingdom, Denmark, Norway, Sweden, Finland, Estonia, Latvia, and Lithuania. Territories that were part of Northern Europe included Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland, which were part of the UK. The Faroe Islands were seen as part of Denmark. Denmark's territory of Greenland was seen mainly as part of North America.
Northern European countries are known for having highly developed economies and high standards of living. The largest country in terms of population in Northern Europe has been the UK, which in 2020 had a population of 67,886,011. In contrast, the smallest country of Iceland had a population of just over 341,240.
