She is best known for her leading role in the American science-fiction TV series ‘The Bionic Woman’ portraying the action character Jaime Summers. She first played this role in the TV hit series ‘The Six Million Dollar Man’.
Wagner earned an Emmy Award in 1977 for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Dramatic Role- for her character role in ‘The Bionic Woman’ television series. She began acting professionally in 1971.
One of her other career interests includes being an author. She wrote a series of books with Robert M. Klein about using acupressure to achieve results akin to a surgical facelift. Then in 1994, she also wrote one of the first ‘celebrity’ vegetarian (and mainly vegan) cookbooks, ‘High Road to Health: A Vegetarian. Cookbook’.
A second career interest was as an adjunct college professor in the fall semester teaching at San Bernardino Valley College in Southern California in 2013- course title, ‘Acting and Directing for Television and Film, Motion Picture Productions’. She was able to teach in spite of the fact that she never finished her formal education, withdrawing from both the University of Oregon and Mt. Hood Community College.
