The 1960 movie "Breathless" by Jean-Luc Godard starred Jean Seberg and Jean-Paul Belmondo and was considered one of the films which launched the French New Wave Movement.

The film launched Belmondo's career at the time. Seberg plays an aspiring American journalist, Patricia Franchini and falls into a relationship with Belmondo ( Michel Poiccard) who is a criminal on the run from the law for killing a police officer.

The end of the movie is famous for the final few pieces of dialogue and explains the title of the movie. Franchini is seen selling New York Herald Tribune newspapers on the streets of Paris at the outset of the movie and visits the newspaper's headquarters and it is there that she betrays Poiccard to the police which leads to the dramatic climax of the movie.
