In humans, do the right/left lungs have the same amount of lobes?

The right lung (the larger of the two) has 3 lobes (Superior, Middle & Inferior). The horizontal fissure separates the superior lobe from the middle lobe, while the right oblique fissure separates the middle and inferior lobes.

The left lung is divided into two lobes (Superior & Inferior), an upper and a lower by the oblique fissure, which extends from the costal to the mediastinal surface of the lung both above and below the hilum.

Doesn't specify why there are only two lobes in left lung-- it's due to cardiac area. Important!

The format for these questions can be amusing. They would like to know "what is your opinion about that?" - Should I be, perhaps, insulted by the asymmetry of it all?

Not amount of lobes, but NUMBER of lobes - amount refers to volume. If you are talking about water in the ocean you could say that the amount is x litres or that the number of litres is x. You do not say the amount of litres.... Anything that can be answered by just a number should be referred to as the number of... Number of people, number of pupils, number of dairy farms, number of rooms, number of steps; amount of money, amount of seaweed, amount of hay, amount of rain, amount of sunshine. Seems proper English terms are not taught anywhere these days!
