I chose 500,000 because I know those Florida beaches drew many students and thought the highest number would the one desired as the answer. But the author said that 500,000 attended in 2018 (not 2015) and the article states that attendence grew to 500,000 without specifying the exact year. The article was dated 2015 and talked about attending in that particular location.

The only people who care about this are the people living in that area and the college students who go there. The rest of us, not so much.

I live 50 miles up the beach from there and we don't get all of them rowdy fools. They know they will get arrested here, PCB is finally doing the same thing. It isn't worth the money, it chases good tourism away. They are going back to Mexico again, hopefully PCB has learned from their mistakes.

When the spring break crowd was huge in Miami, there were always a number of what were called "evolution in action" events when drunk college students would jump from balcony to balcony. A few would invariably miss their target and take themselves out of the genetic lottery. This kind of event (as well as the litter, noise, property destruction, behavioral problems, and general annoyance by locals) led to the local governments tightening up on spring break shenanigans, and the party moved to other locals, like Panama Beach.
