Robert Conrad dared people to knock a Eveready Battery off of his shoulder! He had a badass persona and was seen as a real tough guy on several television shows. In the late 1970s, he was able to do many Eveready Battery commercials.

In the somewhat popular commercials, Conrad after hitting his punching bag and with aggressive eye contact referred to Eveready Batteries as a “power system” while wielding a heavy calculator and cassette player.

Conrad's TV commercial ads were frequently parodied on American television comedy shows. They included: Johnny Carson's "The Tonight Show" and "The Carol Burnett Show". The parodied presentations besides being funny also proved to be very good for the overall sale of Eveready Batteries.
