Rick Deckard, the role played by Harrison Ford in the films "Blade Runner" (1982) and "Blade Runner 2049" (2017), is about a man who must and has faced complex life situations. As a Blade Runner, Deckard's job had been to seek and destroy renegade 'replicants' who were almost complete human creations produced by the Tyrell Corporation. Some returned from off planet missions back to earth to save their lives. Their various lifetime allotments were running out.

Here Ford and Edward James Olmos reprise their roles from the original film. Ryan Gosling plays K, a Nexus-9 replicant "blade runner" who uncovers a secret that threatens to destabilize society and the course of civilization. It centers on the fact that Rachel and Rick Deckard had a child. The child's father truly turns out to be Deckard, who will do all that he can to protect his child's identity.

"Blade Runner 2049" is a 2017 American epic neo-noir science fiction film directed by Denis Villeneuve, written by Hampton Fancher and Michael Green, and produced by Andrew A. Kosove, Broderick Johnson, Bud Yorkin, and Cynthia Sikes Yorkin. It is a true film sequel and stars Ryan Gosling, Olmos, and Ford, with Ana de Armas, Sylvia Hoeks, Robin Wright, Mackenzie Davis, Dave Bautista, and Jared Leto in supporting roles.

The film's screen play is directed by Ridley Scott, adapted from the story, 'Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep?' by Philip K. Dick. The movie also features great cinematography and a score by Vagelis.
