During a confrontation with Harry, Snape reveals that his father is a muggle and his mother is a pure blood witch. That makes him half-blood. His mothers maiden name is Eileen Snape, née Prince, combined to 'half-blood Prince'. His mother's name is Prince, and he is a Half-Blood (his father is Muggle, his mother is witch).
