In the book "The Legend of Sleepy Hollow", what is the name of Ichabod Crane's horse?
In the 1820 novel 'The Legend of Sleepy Hollow', Ichabod Crane’s horse is named Gunpowder. It is said that in the story Crane often rides his horse bareback because it allows him to develop better balance and coordination with the animal. The movements required to cue a horse were said to have been enhanced since required body awareness by the rider was ordinarily improved.
In 'Sleepy Hollow' Ichabod Crane had to be a very good horseman since a "headless horseman" haunted the secluded glen, Sleepy Hollow! At least that’s the legend told in the tiny village of Tarrytown. But scary stories won’t stop the town’s new school master, Ichabod Crane, from crossing the hollow. This is especially true because he knows the beautiful Katrina Van Tassel, the daughter and sole child of a wealthy farmer, Baltus Van Tassel, lives on the other side.
The story here is digestible since it develops all the key characters before any bad things happen, rampant sex and violence are lacking, and it actually tries to scare the crap out of the reader.
