In the 1992 film "A Few Good Men", the Marine Corps base where the criminal incident occurred is named Naval Station Guantanamo Bay. Lieutenant Daniel Kaffee (Tom Cruise) is a military lawyer defending two U.S. Marines charged with killing a fellow Marine at the U.S. Naval Station Guantanamo Bay, Cuba.

During his career, Kaffee is known for seeking plea bargains to quickly resolve cases. Here, a fellow military lawyer, Lieutenant-commander JoAnne Galloway (Demi Moore), convinces him that the accused marines were most likely carrying out an order from a commanding officer. Kaffee takes a risk by calling Colonel Nathan R. Jessep (Jack Nicholson) to the stand in an effort to uncover an illicit conspiracy.

Regarding U.S. Naval Station Guantanamo Bay (NSGB), it is now a United States military base and detention camp located on 120 square kilometers (45 sq mi) of land and water at Guantánamo Bay, Cuba. Originally, the U.S. leased the property for use as a coaling station at the beginning of the 20th century (1903). U.S. Marines have been based on this station since it first opened.
