This 1990 film narrates the rise and fall of mob associate Henry Hill. His criminal associates and friends over a period from 1955 to 1980 are reviewed in full. The plot truly begins when Henry Hill (Ray Liotta) quits school and is taken under the wing of local mob leader, Paul "Paulie" Cicero (Paul Sorvino). Paulie and his associates [James "Jimmy the Gent" Conway (Robert De Niro), who loves hijacking trucks; and Tommy DeVito (Joe Pesci), an aggressive armed robber with a temper find that they personally like having Henry around. They bring Henry into their criminal clan.

Accordingly, Henry becomes a man that grows up in the mob and works very hard to advance himself through the ranks. He enjoys the life of money and luxury that crime brings, but is oblivious to the horror that he causes. Ultimately, a drug addiction and several grave mistakes unraveled his climb to the top. He finally is flipped; he helps the law.

At the time the Martin Scorsese film is released to the public, the real Henry Hill is booted from the U.S. Witness Protection Program. Their association hadn’t exactly been a match made in heaven. Hill never settled into the lifestyle the U.S. Marshals had provided. He decided to go back to his old criminal ways.

Hill was not able to lay low. He showed up at "Goodfellas" related film events; he released a cookbook, sold art on eBay, and frequently called into The Howard Stern Show. In the end, the real Henry Hill died from heart problems in 2012.
