In the 1994 film "Pulp Fiction", Mia Wallace (Uma Thurman) is involved with a heroin overdose. The event takes place in a scene between Mia and Vincent Vega (John Travolta).

Prior to the overdose situation, the two (Mia and Vincent) go to dinner at Jack Rabbit Slim's, a 1950s themed restaurant in Glendale, CA. While they are at the restaurant, the DJ announces a twist contest. Mia wants to win the first place trophy. Though Vincent is reluctant, he dances (The Twist) with Mia to Chuck Berry's "You Never Can Tell". They end up winning the trophy.

When they return to Mia's house, they go to separate rooms. Vincent goes to the bathroom. Mia is all alone. Vincent is contemplating what to do next. Mia sees Vincent's coat jacket. She picks it up and finds a small bag of heroin. She snorts it, thinking that it's cocaine. When Vincent returns from the bathroom he finds Mia overdosing on the couch. He acts fast and drives her to the house of his heroin dealer. In an effort to save Mia, the dealer gets a needle full of adrenaline. Vincent applies it directly into Mia's heart. She instantly wakes. Her life is saved.

Knowing that her gangster husband, Marsellus (Ving Rhames), will be very upset about the overdose, they do not tell him. They opt to avoid having any big problem!
