"Silence of the Lambs" is a 1991 movie starring Jodie Foster and Anthony Hopkins which won 5 Academy Awards. Winning categories were: Best Picture, Best Actor, Best Actress, Best Director and Best Screenplay. It was also nominated for Sound and Film Editing.

The story is about an FBI agent-in-training Clarice Starling (Foster) assigned to interview the serial killer Dr. Hannibal Lecter aka "Hannibal the Cannibal" (Hopkins). The FBI was looking for any information which would aid in the capture of serial killer "Buffalo Bill", played by Ted Levine. Jame Gumb was called "Buffalo Bill" because he would slice the skin off his victims in various patterns.

When the daughter of a U.S. Senator is kidnapped by Gumb and placed into a large hole, she attempts to escape by luring Gumb's adored poodle "Precious" into the hole. A standoff is in process when Agent Starling arrives and ultimately shoots Gumb in a series of intense scenes.

What became of Precious we're not really certain, but after being rescued we see the Senator's daughter, Catherine, leaving Gumb's house carrying the dog, so it's assumed she keeps it.

The Internet Movie Data Base (IMDB) ranks "Silence of the Lambs" number 24 in its list of greatest movies of all time.
