In what profession would the term hydrologic warning be used?
Meteorology is the science concerned with the processes and phenomenon of the atmosphere, especially as a means for forecasting weather.The hydrologic cycle is the sequence of conditions through which water passes from vapor in the atmosphere through precipitation upon land or water surfaces and ultimately back into the atmosphere as a result of evaporation and transpiration.When a hydrologic outlook or warning is issued it means that heavy rains are expected in the area which could ultimately lead to flooding.

I'm not totally convinced by this. As others have said and I agree with them engineering is nearer the mark than meteorology

Engineering deals with water problems, transport of water, managerment of water, the question has misleading answers. Meteorology deals with weather, of which the water cycle is a part, but the word "hydrology" means the study of water, and engineers have a large part in it. Two thumbs down!

I believe that the author meant "hydrologic outlook warning", not "hydrologic warning". Because of the concern shown in several of the comments, like Sharon Judd, I went online for the answer.
"Hydrologic warnings" are issued when there a chance of water damage to infrastructure. That would be within the purview of engineers among others. On the other hand "hydrologic outlook warnings" may be issued by meteorologists (as stated by the author) concerned by flooding through such things as hurricanes and other heavy rain events. For the answer to be correct, the question needs to modified by adding the word "outlook" between "hydrologic" and "event".
