When was a MLB World Series game played at night for the first time?
On October 13, 1971 the Pittsburgh Pirates and the Baltimore Orioles faced off in Game 4 for the first night game in the World Series. Regular season night games in the MLB had been being played at night since the 1930s. By the 1940s, all stadiums had lights except for the Chicago Cubs. The Pirates won, and went on to win the World Series that year.
