In which country is the easternmost point of the African mainland located?

The Mauritian island of Rodrigues is the easternmost point of Africa. The island lies 350 miles east of Mauritius. Hafun in eastern Somalia is, however, the easternmost point of the African Mainland. It is located in Bari region close to Cape Guardafui headland.

Africa is the world's second-largest and second-most populous continent, after Asia. At about 30.3 million km2 (11.7 million square miles) including adjacent islands, it covers 6% of Earth's total surface area and 20% of its land area. With 1.3 billion people as of 2018, it accounts for about 16% of the world's human population.

Somalia has an estimated population of around 15 million and has been described as the most culturally homogeneous country in Africa. Around 85% of its residents are ethnic Somalis, who have historically inhabited the northern part of the country.
