In which film did Bruce Willis play the role of a taxi driver searching for a cosmic weapon?
"The Fifth Element" is a French science fiction film co-written and directed by Luc Besson, released in 1997, starring Bruce Willis, Milla Jovovich, Gary Oldman, and Ian Holm.
In Egypt, 1914, extraterrestrials retrieve four magical stones, symbols of the four elements, once entrusted to priests. Before leaving, the aliens promise that in 300 years, they will return the precious stones.
In the 23rd century, while en route to Earth, they are annihilated by the planet of evil. The inhabitants of this malevolent world, the Mangalores, seize the stones and race towards Earth. President Lindberg and his advisors quickly realize that there is no way to stop them.
A mutant, Leeloo (Milla Jovovich), holds the key to the fifth element. She lands in Korben Dallas's (Bruce Willis) taxi, who hides her at his home...and will help her save humanity.
The film won the César Award for Best Director for Luc Besson, the César Award for Best Cinematography for Thierry Arbogast, and the César Award for Best Production Design for Dan Weil in 1998.
