Moore led 500 American soldiers into battle against thousands of well armed Vietnamese troops. The battle was one that lasted for three days and resulted with Lt. Geoghegan and 149 other Americans being killed. About 834 North Vietnamese soldiers were confirmed killed; another 1,000 communist casualties were assumed.
