In which U.S. state is "DUI" known as "DUII"?

Driving Under the Influence (DUI).

The term “under the influence” refers to the fact that drugs and alcohol affect, or “influence”, a person’s behavior. Alcohol is a depressant, which can slow down a person’s motor skills, thus affecting his or her driving ability. Drugs can be either a depressant or a stimulant. In the U.S. driving while under the influence of drugs or alcohol is illegal.

Some states use other acronyms:

OWI in Indiana and Iowa: Operating While Intoxicated;

OUI in Massachusetts and Rhode Island: Operating Under the Influence;

OVI in Ohio: Operating a Vehicle While Intoxicated;

DUII in Oregon: Driving Under the Influence of Intoxicants.

You have got to be kidding me! I did get it wrong. I guess because I am a CA native. I remember hearing when I was a teen growing up (70's) it was DWI (driving while intoxicated). I received my "first" in 1986 and it was DUI (driving under the influence). I had my 4th by 2012 and now I will have 5 years sober on July 31st, 2017, but, it took 26 years to get started! It is never to late to stop drinking and your reward will be to have a better, healthier, happier, longer life!

Be honest, how many if you cruised around drunk all Friday & Saturday nights, buying beer with fake ID'S and paying 50 cents a gallon for gas, listening to music on 8 track tapes, cause there was nothing cheaper or better to do.

jonbroberts, Are you serious!?! 🤔 Last time I checked, it is a controlled substance! It will probably never be legalized. It has killed a few police officers 👮 and there drug dogs.🐕 It used to only be used in surgery😷 but now it is more widely used in the hospital setting.

I'll be. I live in Oregon and got it wrong because everyone calls it a DUI. To be fair to myself, I neither drink nor drive.

Even in Oregon we usually refer to it as a DUI.

Florida uses DUI Driving Under the Influence

I remember when it was DWI, but it was changed to DUI because some people who were arrested for DWI weren’t drinking alcohol, they were doing drugs. Intoxicated implies drinking. So the court system acknowledged DWI did not apply and they were let go.

I didn't know the answer for sure, but I live in Oregon, and DUII sounded vaguely familiar.

So if pot becomes legal can you be charged with driving while under the influence of "M"? Take a filed sobriety test? Forced to pee in the bottle or give blood for testing?? It won't be long.
