In addition to "The Jeffersons", Isabel Sanford played Louise "Weezy" Jefferson on "All in the Family" (1971 - 1975), "The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air" (1990 - 1996), and "Roseanne" (1988 - 1997 originally). Sanford did not play the role of Louise "Weezy" on the show "Living Single" (1993 - 1998). The show "Living Single" is about four women and two men who share their lives and loves in a Brooklyn, NY brownstone.

Before appearing on television, Isabel Sanford was a Broadway actress for over 30 years. She then moved to Hollywood, CA and made several guest appearances on TV. She even at one point did a stint as a supporting cast member on "The Carol Burnett Show" (1967). Until she died, Isabel continued to act frequently. Her most recent role had her in a series of commercials for Old Navy retail stores.

Sanford was born in August 1917 in New York City, New York. After living for 86 years she died in July 2004 in Los Angeles, CA. Many fans loved her and she once said, "I was very comfortable having a steady job on a hit show, and who knew that 'The Jeffersons' would catch on?"
