Jamaica has a tropical climate.

The official motto of Jamaica is, "out of many, one people." This motto can be seen on Jamaica's official coat-of-arms and is based on the multiracial history and roots of its people.

Jamaica is the largest island in the Caribbean and is divided into three landform regions: the eastern mountains, the central valleys and plateaus, and the coastal plains. The most elevated area is the Blue Mountain, which reaches over 7,400 feet at Blue Mountain Peak.

ahfirefly, continents extend beyond land you can see. Techtonic plates make up each continent and they are constantly moving. Each island is a part of a techtonic plate and Jamaica has to be a part of North America.

I have never heard that islands are "part" of a continent, unless just a few miles offshore. I also question the use of the word "within". It is not "within". Merriam Webster defines a continent as: one of the six or seven great divisions of land on the globe. I would say that it is most closely associated and closest to the North American continent.

This research is rather indolent. Jamaica is the FORTH largest Caribbean island (Cuba, Hispaniola and Puerto Rico being larger); The author was probably dozing off by the time he'd gone on to state that "Jamdown" is the "largest island in the Caribbean" 😂😝🤣

Cuba is actually intersected by two other body’s of water. The Atlantic and the Gulf of Mexico. And by the way it is also considered as part of the North American continent. Jamaica is situated solely in the Caribbean. That makes it the largest geniuses.

When I was a youth I was taught Canada and United States were Both America.Any countries including island countries in both Atlatic, and Pacific forme Mexico to Panama were Central America, countries from Columbia to Argentina were South America. When did this change? Was it when the NAFTA treaty was signed?

I'd like to know who writes the little answer explanation, this one is total garbage as is a whole bunch of peoples ignorant arguments about whether or not Jamaica is part of North America. Nelly, Mexico is not part of North America any longer it's Central America. We stole California, Texas, Nevada they were all part of Mexico until we took them and then deported huge numbers of the people from those areas. Read the real History of America.

Louise Clissold, The last paragraph starts "Jamaica is the largest island in the Caribbean". A fairly definitive statement I think. Cuba is by far the largest island in the Caribbean, even though the US chooses to pretend it's not there!

When I was at school America was one continent. Now it is split into two continents (North and South) and sometimes three with the inclusion of Central America !!
