Iceland is a British supermarket chain specialising in frozen foods, including ready meals and vegetables. They also sell non-frozen items such as meat, dairy and dry goods. The first store was opened by Sir Matthew Walker (born 1946) in 1970 in Leg Street, Oswestry, Shropshire. Since then, over 1,000 stores have opened across the UK.

From the mid-2000s, Kerry Katona (born 1981), a British pop star and former member of Atomic Kitten, started appearing in television adverts for Iceland. The adverts introduced the store's slogan, "So that's why mums go to Iceland!" Katona was fired from the role in 2009 after a newspaper published pictures of her allegedly taking cocaine.

Katona was succeeded by Coleen Nolan, Ellie Taylor, and Stacey Solomon, who was subsequently replaced by Australian actor and singer Jason Donovan (born 1968). The slogan was simplified to "That's why mums go to Iceland", and the adverts often showed Donovan doing his grocery shopping while surrounded by adoring, female, middle-aged fans. Since 2015, English singer Peter Andre (born 1973) has been the face of Iceland. The adverts use the slogan "Power of Frozen" instead of Iceland's previous slogan.

Within the last decade, Iceland stores have opened outside of the UK. At least 27 stores are located in Ireland, 15 in Spain, 11 in the Czech Republic, and up to 10 in Iceland, Norway, Portugal and the Channel Islands.
