Lucille Ball appeared in many movies without being listed in the credits. Then she got a break appearing with the "Three Stooges" in which movie?
Lucille Ball appeared in fourteen movies between 1933 and 1934, all were unaccredited. Later in 1934 she appeared in a short called "Perfectly Mismated" where she was finally listed in the credits. Then there were three more unaccredited releases.
Later in 1934, Lucy received her first big break playing a supporting role in the movie "Three Little Pigskins", a movie about three losers paid to dress as famous football players as publicity stunt, for a college, and ended up being chased by mobsters.
The movie starred "The Three Stooges" and Lucy played a female recruiter and got squirted in the face with seltzer water for her trouble.
Later in her career, when this short was brought up, Ball referring to the seltzer scene, would remark, "The only thing I learned from The Three Stooges was how to duck. I still got wet!"
Moe Howard once called "Three Little Pigskins" "a humdinger of bangs and bruises". It was the first time the Stooges refused to do a scene. They were to be tackled by three real college players. The director assured the Stooges they would not be hurt, Moe replied ""You're darn right we won't get hurt. We're not doing the scene." Two of the three stuntmen wound up with broken bones.
