Lyme disease is a bacterial infection primarily transmitted by deer ticks, also known as black-legged ticks. These ticks are typically found in wooded and grassy areas.
More than 300,000 Americans are diagnosed with Lyme disease every year. That's almost 6 times the number of people diagnosed with AIDS each year in the US.
You should know that diagnosing the disease can be very difficult that is why many people who actually have Lyme may be misdiagnosed with other infections.

I almost died from it. I've had 13 undiagnosed cases. 11 back surgeries, need both hips and one knee replacement. Please!!! If you exhibit the symptoms, see a doctor. There aren't always red bulleyes.

The disease that is spread by the deer tick is Rocky Mountain Spotted Fever. I know because I had it. Never found the tick though!
The tick is very tiny and is almost black it's so brown. Never did find one on me anywhere. And no I do not go deer hunting but I live where deer come in my yard and eat from our hands.
