Mount Everest lies in which country?
Mount Everest attracts many climbers, including highly experienced mountaineers. There are two main climbing routes, one approaching the summit from the southeast in Nepal (known as the "standard route") and the other from the north in Tibet. While not posing substantial technical climbing challenges on the standard route, and wind, as well as hazards from avalanches and the Khumbu Icefall. As of November 2022, 310 people have died on Everest. Over 200 bodies remain on the mountain and have not been removed due to the dangerous conditions.

The China–Nepal border runs across the summit point of Mount Everest, therefore two answers are correct. If only the clone question were reviewed these errors would be corrected.

I agree with everyone, it sits in both Nepal and China - but I think we associate it with Nepal as that is the side that all the climbers take off from. China rarely gives permission for people to climb from that side - according to all my climber friends, one of which climbed part way up before weather killed the take of the summit.
