Name the longest-running science fiction program in TV history.
Doctor Who, a science fiction TV-series, is produced in Britain since 1963! The original TV program ran from 1963 to 1989 and was successfully relaunched in 2005 after several failed attempts. 10 seasons were released after the relaunching and BBC is producing new episodes now. The plot of the new show is a continuation of the original series from the previous century.
The series tells a story of the Doctor, a time traveler and a humanoid. Thirteen actors have played the Doctor role by now.

look it up steve... it is Dr. Who Star Trek only ran a limited number of seasons, and had offshoots.. Deep Station 9, Star Trek, the Next Generation, etc.

love that series.....how do they do that with the telephone booth...lol... I tried one in London once... closed the door, and all it was was a telephone booth.... after about six times, a Bobbie came over and offered to explain to me how to use it.... I didn't bother to explain myself....lol

I'm still traumatised by the Daleks from 1960s TV, and my niece's husband has one he made in the living room and their adorable Ragdoll cat is also called Dalek.

i was 12 in 1963 when I saw my first Dr Who episode with William Hartnell. It was three or so years before Star Trek began. I didn't get into it but friend a bit younger did. i preferred the second doctor who Patrick Troughton who played a recorder and had a less condescending attitude to the young female sidekick! Tom Baker was my fave of the first 5 : of the modern era David Tennant, Matt Smith and Jodie are super.

I’m 63 and can still remember the first episode. The Beatles were on once but the Beeb accidentally scrubbed the tapes, so if you can’t remember it you’ll never see it! The Tardis lands in Top of the Pops studio, I think they were playing Hey Jude.
The best Doctor was the original William Hartnell, though there’s been a few goodies along the way.
Tardis has become part of English vernacular;
‘the Mini is quite Tardis like’.
‘My flat looks small but it’s like the Tardis inside.’
