Name the second-largest dwarf planet known in the Solar System
It was discovered on the 5th of January, 2005
According to Wikipedia, Eris is the most massive dwarf planet known in the Solar System. It is also the largest known body in the Solar System not visited by a spacecraft ever. This dwarf planet is more massive than Pluto, yet Pluto is said to be larger by volume. When discovered, Eris was thought to be larger than Pluto, so it was initially described as the tenth planet of our planetary system.

Eris and Pluto are not considerd planets they are considered asteroids
Eris is lager the pluto, Which if we wanted to consider them dwarf planets would make Pluto the second largest. Check the folowin chart.

Eather the question needs to change or the answer as this is totally wrong as there are 5 Dwarf-Planets and Eris is larger then Pluto and I know I am not wrong so I checked Wikipedia and Pluto is the second-Largest Dwarf Planet and Eris is the biggest and after looking at some of the others who had something to write I am reashured that I am right and the Author has made a terrable mistake ......

You folks are all wrong !!! Comets, Meteors and Asteroids are all basically made up of the same stuff like rocks, ice, metals and a variety of organic compounds. They are not the same as Planets or Dwarf Planets. Pluto is the largest Dwarf Planet in the Solar System but Eris is the most massive Dwarf Planet in the Solar System. This means that Eris is smaller than Pluto but Eris has more matter or is denser than Pluto. Eris is 25% more massive than Pluto. Also, Eris is 1,454 miles wide and Pluto is 1,455 miles wide. I'm still sad that they down graded Pluto to Dwarf Planet status. Everybody have a great New Year !!!

When googling this question, it said Eris was Slightly larger than Pluto. That would make Pluto the second largest. You never mentioned volume. That was a tricky question, not really fair.

I believe if you check Eris is the largest. Also Pluto has lost ots standing as a dwarf planet as it has cleared its path.
