In 1983, in an effort to boost Toyota's overall brand image and establish an emotional bond with consumers, the company unveiled a new slogan: "Oh, What a feeling!" The top company executives at Toyota stated, “It was the first automotive campaign which wanted to look at cars from a consumer point of view.” They felt that until that point car advertising was all about shiny cars or how great they (the cars) could perform.

What the ‘Oh, What a Feeling!’ ad campaign was designed to do was to totally change the perception of cars to one of driver satisfaction. This idea has successfully come across with each ad when it culminates with a satisfied Toyota customer leaping ecstatically into the air. The person knows driver satisfaction!

Today, Toyota Motor Corporation is a Japanese multinational automotive manufacturer headquartered in Toyota, Aichi, Japan. In 2018, Toyota's corporate structure consisted of over 369,945 employees worldwide and, as of September 2018, the company was the sixth-largest in the world by revenue. The ad has worked for over 35 years.
