On the Andy Griffith Show, what did Sheriff Andy Taylor limit to one for his deputy?
On the iconic Andy Griffith Show, Deputy Barnard Fife was a stickler for every city ordinance and regulation. He considered himself a well-read, well-trained, well-armed, hero-type lawman. In actuality, Barney was more bumbler than a hero. He had so many accidents with his gun that Andy required that he keep it unloaded. That and the fact that there was no real crime wave in Mayberry, North Carolina, is why Barney's friend and Sheriff Andy Taylor insisted with concern for his safety and that of the citizenry, that he has only one bullet which he was to keep safely hidden away in his uniform shirt pocket.
