On the British TV comedy series "As Time Goes By", two principal cast members Rocky Hardcastle, played by Frank Middlemass (1919 – 2006) and Madge played by Joan Sims (1930 – 2001) get married on the show. This is a couple that is funny and charming together. On their honeymoon, they go to Memphis, Tennessee. They are both big country music fans and they decided that they must go and visit Graceland.

A number of British TV critics have noted that this couple is truly brilliant to watch. The couple is one with a universal appear and TV audiences love to see them face life with members of their family.

When Rocky marries Madge, they are somewhat of an eccentric couple to watch. Madge and Rocky had been having an affair for over 10 years before they got married. He had become 85 years old and Madge's age was 78. At this point in their lives, they travel the world, listen to country music, go riding in Madge's classic convertible (with steer horns on the grille), and hang out at the local pub, where Madge will sing. In the 9th season, Madge is said to be on an archaeological dig in Egypt; she is pursuing a very personal passion. In reality, Sims (Madge) has died in real life. She didn't do any TV filming for the last season of the show. A reason for her absence is provided; no one was hired to replace her.

The show ran from January 1992 to December 2005. It ran for 9 seasons, consisting of 30-minute episodes. Two TV reunion specials have now also been done.
