F-Troop was a comedy show that ran from September 14, 1965 to April 6, 1967. The Hekawi Tribe lived close by Fort Courage, where F-Troop was based. Fort Courage's location is never specifically mentioned, but it's somewhere out West.

During one episode, while planning for Sgt. O'Rourke's 25th anniversary in the service, Chief Wild Eagle offers to lecture on the origin of the Hekawi name. To paraphrase: many moons ago, the tribe was forced to leave Massachusetts when the Pilgrims moved in and ruined the neighborhood. Forced to move West, the tribe travelled over streams, rivers, and mountains. Then came the big day, when the tribe fell off a cliff. The medicine man turned to Chief Wild Eagle's ancestor and said: "I think we lost, where the heck are we?" The tribe became "We're the Hekawi."

Censors had forced the change of the original name of the tribe which had been Fugawi.
