On the 1964 - 65 U.S. TV animated show "Jonny Quest", the name of Jonny's faithful dog is Bandit. This dog is a bulldog with distinctive mask like eye markings on its face. He is a small white dog; but because his eyes have a black mask, he has been given the named Bandit. He really has no human attributes. Yet he seems to be able to understand human speech and is capable of making some complex facial expressions.

With Bandit, we have a dog that does not actually conform to any standard breed of bulldog. His tail is too long, and he is too small to be an English Bulldog.
