On the U.S. TV show "Family Affair," what was the name of Buffy's beloved doll?
On the U.S. CBS TV show "Family Affair" (1966 - 1971), the name of Buffy's beloved doll was Mrs. Beasley. This show ran for five seasons, and it remained a hit show until the network decided to end the show. The children on this show were big stars. Yet, one of the most popular characters that was a key part of the family and not a child was the doll, Mrs. Beasley.
Mrs. Beasley, a constant companion and pal of Buffy, became so popular that Mattel (the toy company) put the doll on the retail market in the late 1960s. It sold well enough that the company went on to launch two Buffy dolls. One was a "Talking Buffy"; it came with a miniature Mrs. Beasley. These items had great public appeal!
Part of Mrs. Beasley's special appeal was her black spectacles. However, she did not wear glasses in the show's premiere episode. They smartly show up on Mrs. Beasley in the second episode.
