The producers of the U.S. TV show, "The Ed Sullivan Show" (1948 - 1971), decided to bring on the little Italian mouse named Topo Gigio to try make the show and the host more engaging to a majority of Americans. They could have never expected that the little mouse puppet would go on to become one of the show's most memorable acts. On Ed's show, Topo quickly became a hit because he exposed a side of Sullivan that audiences had never seen.

After being on "The Ed Sullivan Show", Topo would go on to star in a feature film, an Italian TV show, and a Japanese and Latin American animated series.
