By the end of the tragedy, Prince Hamlet has personally and directly caused the deaths of Polonius, Laertes, and Claudius. He has also indirectly been involved in the deaths of Rosencrantz and Guildenstern (two acquaintances of his from childhood), his love Ophelia (drowning), and of his mother Gertrude (mistakenly poisoned by Claudius).

With the three deaths involving Hamlet's active participation, he seems to have little or no remorse. Concerning Polonius, Hamlet stabs him from behind a curtain. Hamlet believed Polonius to be Claudius spying on him. It seems that Hamlet’s lack of self-certainty drives him to the act of violence wherein Polonius is killed, which completely and tragically was a misfire. Next, Claudius is stabbed by Hamlet, then forced to drink poisoned wine. King Claudius is felled by his own cowardly machination towards Hamlet. Finally, Laertes (Polonius' son) is wounded by Hamlet and the sword had poison on it. In their scuffle, their swords are switched. Hamlet stabs Laertes with his own poisoned blade. Laertes will die.

In the final scene, after Hamlet and Laertes stab each other and are dying, Laertes forgives Hamlet, absolving him of his and his father's deaths if Hamlet absolves him of his own. Hamlet does, dying shortly after Laertes does.

This Shakespearean tragedy "Hamlet" doesn't seem to have any heros. The prince of Denmark discovers that his father was murdered and seeks revenge on the one who killed him. He ends up becoming a killer.
