Rufus Sewell (Rufus Frederik Sewell, b. October 1967) is a British film and stage actor. He is known for his acting in "Carrington" (1995), "Hamlet" (1996), "Dangerous Beauty" (1998), "Dark City" (1998), "A Knight's Tale" (2001), "The Legend of Zorro" (2005), "The Illusionist" (2006), "Amazing Grace" (2006), "The Holiday" (2006), "Paris, je t'aime" (2006), "Judy" (2019), "The Father" (2020), and "Old" (2021).

"Judy", a 2019 biographical drama based on the life of American actress and singer Judy Garland, is a film where Sewell plays Sidney Luft, an American show business figure. He is second husband of actress Lynn Bari and later the third husband of Garland.

This film was directed by Rupert Goold and is an adaptation of the Olivier- and Tony-nominated West End and Broadway play "End of the Rainbow" by Peter Quilter. It stars Renée Zellweger as Garland, with Jessie Buckley, Finn Wittrock, Michael Gambon, and Sewell in supporting roles.

The film follows Garland's career during the last year of her life, when she relocated to Great Britain, coupled with flashbacks of her teenage years, most prominently the filming of her part as Dorothy Gale in "The Wizard of Oz" (1939). Later in time, her life and career (after some initial success in a run of sell-out concerts at the 'Talk of the Town' in London) are noted where her acting efforts eventually stop making progress and even start to worsen as her health deteriorates.

The film "Judy" was a big hit in all respects.
