When the White Star Line built the Olympic Class, the original two were RMS Olympic and RMS Titanic, but a third ship of the class was begun after Olympic was commissioned, to be named RMS Gigantic, but later renamed Britannic. By the time Britannic was completed the First World War had begun, and Britannic was requisitioned and refitted as a hospital ship. She was sunk in the Aegean Sea on November 21, 1916. She was believed to have struck a mine but the exact cause of the explosion that sunk her remains unknown. Britannic never served as a civilian ocean liner.

RMS Majestic was a White Star ocean liner working on the North Atlantic run, originally launched in 1914 as the Hamburg America Line liner SS Bismarck. She was transferred to Britain as part of Germany's war reparations.

RMS Olympic continued to serve until 1934 when she was retired and later scrapped.
