"Vie privée" is a French film directed by Louis Malle, released in 1962. The film tells the story of Jill, a beautiful young woman from Geneva's bourgeoisie, who is passionate about dance. She secretly falls in love with Fabio, the husband of her best friend, Carla. Fabio is an editor and a man of letters and theater. To escape this impossible love, Jill moves to Paris, where she transitions from a dancer to a top model and eventually becomes an actress and sex symbol. However, her rise to fame comes at a cost, as she is constantly pursued by paparazzi and adored by the public, leading to a loss of privacy.

Overwhelmed and depressed, Jill returns to Geneva, where she reunites with Fabio. They fall in love and share happy moments together. Fabio is working on a play for the Spoleto Festival, and Jill joins him there, once again attracting the attention of the crowd and journalists. Feeling hunted, she isolates herself in her room. On the night of the premiere, she climbs to the roof of the theater to watch the play. A photographer spots her, and the flash blinds Jill, causing her to slip and fall from the roof. In her fall, her face appears relaxed and almost happy, suggesting a sense of release from her tumultuous life.
