Viewed from the North Star, does the Earth rotate clockwise or counter-clockwise?

The Earth's rotation is the rotation of the planet Earth around its own axis. The North Pole, also known as the Geographic North Pole or Terrestrial North Pole, is the point in the Northern Hemisphere where the Earth's axis of rotation meets its surface. The South Pole is the other point where the Earth's axis of rotation intersects its surface, in Antarctica.

The Earth rotates from the west towards the east. As viewed from North Star or polestar Polaris, the Earth turns counter-clockwise.

It'd be interesting to know the percentage of men vs. women who got it correct. Supposedly, men are better at mentally rotating 3D objects. Women have unique skills too, such as better fine motor skills. It's kinda ridiculous that I had to throw that last part in to avoid people getting butthurt and calling me sexist in this day and age lol. Or that I felt the need to say supposedly about a widely scientifically supported fact. Oh well, the world's gone mad, what can you do?

I just imagined myself standing at the north pole. Knowing that New York gets the sun before San Francisco, logic then dictates that the earth rotates counterclockwise.

krkyates, I just walk outside, as I live in the Desert and 2 hours from any city my view is unencumbered. For this reason alone I love the desert. Go to the Grand Canyon or top of the Rockies or most anywhere in the Southwestern U.S. and you can enjoy the sky. The pollution- lights or industrial is insignificant in there. I want to add other viewing spots to my list. Scotland, Amsterdam and Southern Italy are checked off. Australia, Hawaii, are on my list...any suggestions?
