Like all of these cults you have to give the majority of your possessions and cash, and live life frugally, while the big boss has mansions, private planes, private bank accounts and an army of bodyguards.

The Unification Church was a cult of personality disguised as a Christian New religious movement formed by and around "Reverend" Sun Myung Moon (1920–2012), a nutjob from South Korea who claimed he was the Second Coming of Jesus, and blamed the 2011 Japanese earthquake and tsunamis upon the Japanese people, claiming it was divine punishment for believing in "idols.". Since after the founders death, it has been led by his wife Hak Ja Han (1943–) and since then she instigated various ritual and theological changes, most notably the elevation of her status as a messianic figure through the concept of the "Only Begotten Daughter" thus switching to her cult of personality, like someone else's family in Korea. People have short memories, What's memorable about the Rev. Sun Myung Moon is he substantially evaded paying his U.S. taxes and the IRS guarded his home and confiscated all his possessions including valuable Ming Dynasty artifacts, etc., etc., and put him in J A I L. He served almost 12 months in Connecticut's Federal Prison for tax evasion and was let out in June 1985.

Rich religious leaders and poor followers, sounds like most religions to me! Believe what you wish, but don’t give them your hard earned money!

I remember they were in the U.S. and I was dropped off in N.Y. by friends who were attending this meeting or convention, they were expected to give over much of their material worth to this rich gold-digger. That was in the last 70's and after the start of the 80's I can't recall hearing about Rev. very much!
