British Columbia shares two U.S and Canadian land borders (states of Washington and Alaska). British Columbia, commonly referred to by its initials BC, is a province located on the west coast of Canada. Also, British Columbia is a major component of the Pacific Northwest. In 1871, it became the sixth province of Canada.

Specifically, British Columbia is bordered by the Pacific Ocean on the west side, by the American state of Alaska to the northwest and parts of the west, on the north by Yukon and the Northwest Territories, on the east by the province of Alberta, and clearly on the south by land with the state of Washington. The U.S. states of Montana and Idaho only slightly share the southern border with British Columbia and not chiefly by land.

Currently, ferry services operate between the province of British Columbia and the states of Washington and Alaska. Given its varied mountainous terrain and its coasts, lakes, rivers, and forests, British Columbia has long been enjoyed for pursuits like hiking and camping, rock climbing and mountaineering, hunting and fishing, etc. So, Americans truly love to visit this province in Canada.
