What cartoon character did Stephen Hillenburg create?

Can you believe that Stephen is not only a cartoonist but also a marine biologist? Well, if you knew that it was he who created SpongeBob, then it is not so surprising. Nevertheless, it is amazing how one person could be so talented. He earned a bachelor's degree in marine biology in 1984.
